I just need someone to talk too. I have been self harming for awhile and depressed. My mood swings are getting crazier and crazier and there is not a day that goes by I don't wish I was no longer here. I am so depressed I can't get a job or do anything. I am at a low and don't know where else to turn..
Please Help!!

Carlescia,
Thanks so much for reaching out. My heart goes out to you. It sounds like you are really struggling.
When you say you are self harming, I assume you mean cutting? This is a sign that you are repressing some deep feeings (anger and/or depression) that need to be identified and resolved.
You had the courage to reach out to me for support. Would you consider reaching out to someone in your local community?? By that I mean a therapist or psychologist that can evaluate you and determine what is going on and how to help you.
Recover from depression starts with one step, even just a baby step, to get some help. You have just made one baby step and you should feel really good about yourself.
All of these baby steps need to come from the inner strength that you have - even if you aren't connecting with it. Find that part of you that wants to recover ... that wants to face your demons head on and address them once and for all. Find that part of you that knows you are an amazing person. Refuse to surrender to this. Instead, fight for your right to have an amazing, fulfilling life.
You have been brought into this world because you have something amazing to offer. You are a special person that deserves to be happy.
I would recommend, as your next baby step, that you find professional support - someone that you can talk to in confidence that can help you on this journey.
There is usually a county mental health office you can contact. I also have a host of
hotlines you can reach out to. Either one would be a good starting point. They, in turn, can give you guidance on what the appropriate next steps would be.
I hope this helps and that you find that beacon of light to guide you through this process.
In light and love,
Dana
